The Pica d'Estats Project
Climbing the Pica d'Estats is a dream that many hikers yearn for. But to reach the top of the highest peak in Catalonia, good planning and good training are needed so that the ascent does not turn into a nightmare. Reaching one of the 3000's of the Pyrenees is the goal of many hikers, but to make this dream come true, good preparation is needed.
Pica d'Estats, with its 3,143 m altitude, is the highest peak in Catalonia. It is located in the axial zone of the Pyrenean mountain range and, although it belongs to Catalonia, it is on the border with France, and very close to Andorra. It is within the municipal area of the municipality of Alins, in the Pallars Sobirà region, and within the largest protected area in Catalonia: the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.

Training Calendar - Pica d'Estats Project 2025 - 26
The Pica d'Estats project consists of a series of guided proposals to peaks of greater or lesser difficulty, which during the year will serve as training to reach the summit of the highest mountain in Catalonia in summer: Pica d'Estats.
We will try to climb a peak every month, adapting to the snow and weather conditions of the time of year, to achieve good physical shape that allows us to achieve our final goal.
You don't have to do all the routes in the project to do the Pica, but it is recommended to maintain good physical shape and be able to enjoy the climb (and not suffer from it!).

🏔️Del zero al cim: una experiència transformadora
La meva incursió en el món de la muntanya va ser per una "promesa", que com em va dir una bona amiga "promesa" sonava molt religiós i es va convertir en projecte, un projecte que vaig començar fa un any, sol i sense experiència, al poc temps em vaig adonar que necessitava algú que em preparés física i mentalment per a escometre'l amb èxit , després de contrastar en la xarxa diverses opcions em vaig decidir per Muntanya i Natura amb Alba Rovira que tenia el Projecte Pica d'Estats, tot sobre rodes , primera sortida de contacte amb Alba i ja un no parar fins a culminar el repte, haig de dir que he estat molt constant que del zero al cent ha estat dur però molt gratificant, que he tingut la sort de compartir sortides amb persones genials que m'han aportat molt , tinc clar que ho repetiré i amb qui ho repetiré , una experiència totalment recomanable i si t'assessora i guia Alba l'èxit està assegurat.

🏔 Pica d'Estats (3.143m) — Un somni fet realitat!
Aquest cap de setmana hem coronat el sostre de Catalunya amb un grup increïble i sota la guia experta de l'Alba, que ens ha acompanyat amb saviesa, calma i passió per la muntanya. Després de mesos d'entrenament, hem gaudit d'un dia espectacular, amb bon temps i una energia que ens ha empès fins al cim.
Gràcies, Alba, per fer-nos sentir segures, motivades i connectades amb la natura en cada pas. Aquesta ascensió ha estat molt més que un repte físic: ha estat una vivència compartida que ens quedarà gravada per sempre. 💚

🤝Quarta participació i amb ganes de repetir!
Aquesta ha estat la meva quarta participació i ja penso en repetir l’any vinent. El grup ha estat fantàstic i el ritme sempre s’ha adaptat al més lent, sempre ben controlat per la guia, que transmet total seguretat. Destaco l’ambient d’unió i confiança, l’organització excel·lent i, sobretot, el bon rotllo que fa que vulgui tornar-hi.

🏔️ Una experiència inoblidable a la Pica d’Estats
Molt contenta d'haver fet la Pica i dels 3 dies, han estat una molt bona experiència. M'he sentit molt bé, el grup es gent molt maca. La guia fa que l'ambient sigui molt bo.
El ritme i dificultats han estat adequats, gràcies al entrenament previ. M'he sentit molt còmoda i segura. Ha estat una molt gratificant tot, la ruta, el grup, la guia.
El refugi també ha estat molt agradable.
