Vic, la capital d'Osona, està situada a una hora en cotxe i accessible en transport públic, ja sigui amb tren o bus des de Barcelona.
Osona és ideal per fer una escapada d'un dia o passar un cap de setmana, és un bon lloc per relaxar-se, fugir de l'estrès, desconnectar, gaudir del paisatge i la bona gastronomia tot fent senderisme i salut.
La capital d'Osona es troba al bell mig de la comarca i envoltada de muntanyes cadascuna amb característiques singulars i ben diferenciades. El Collsacabra, les Guilleries, el massís del Montseny, els cingles de Bertí, l'altiplà del Lluçanès, la serra de Bellmunt i el Puigsacalm envolten la plana de Vic.
Guided routes in the natural spaces of Osona
Osona comprises a wide network of protected natural spaces with remarkable biodiversity and significant landscape contrast that makes it very attractive for hiking and trekking.
The Montseny Natural Park is located in the south of the region and is a Biosphere Reserve. It encompasses a wide variety of ecosystems, habitats and biodiversity thanks to the notable altitudinal gradient and proximity to the Mediterranean Sea.
The Parc del Castell de Montesquiu , the smallest park in the Barcelona Provincial Council, is located in the north of the region and is presided over by the magnificent Montesquiu Castle and surrounded by forests.
The Guilleries - Savassona Natural Area is located in the east of the region. This area comprises two distinct areas: Savassona, with its spectacular rock formations, and Guilleries, with its extensive forest areas and complex orography.
Also to the east of the region, separated from Guilleries by the Ter River and forming part of the Transversal System, we find the Collsacabra Natural Area . Collsacabra is an extensive area of great scenic beauty with extensive forests and spectacular cliffs of great geological interest.
In the northeast of the Osona region, bordering Collsacabra and the Parc del Castell de Montesquiu, lies the Espai Natural Serres de Milany - Santa Magdalena i Puigsacalm - Bellmunt . This is the most notable and representative natural space of the Transversal system, along with Collsacabra, and the most important of the eastern pre-Pyrenean mountains. It stands out mainly for its deciduous forests of a Central European character and the great diversity of forest flora and fauna.
To the west of the region and on the border with the Lluçanès plateaus, we find the Riera del Sorreigs Natural Area . Further west, on the border with Berguedà, we find the Merlès stream . Both fluvial complexes are representative of the Osona rivers and the central plateau.
To the southwest of Osona and on the border with Moianès and Vallès Oriental, rise the spectacular cliffs of the Cingles de Bertí Natural Area . Nearby we also find the Sauva Negra , a unique beech forest at the southern limit of its distribution.
In the middle of the Vic plain rise the Turons de la Plana Ausetana , a natural space where a multitude of marly hills stand out, characteristic of the Vic plain and of great geomorphological and botanical importance.
