We are starting a new project: The 100 Peaks Project of Mountain and Nature . The purpose is to climb 100 emblematic mountains of our territory, walking and without rushing, to get to know the territory and promote comprehensive health through hiking.
And you may wonder... What is this about?
-
Well, it's about climbing 100 peaks, whether they're gentle hills in our region or steep peaks in the Pyrenees.
Why?
-
Well, because every day there is more data confirming that practicing physical exercise and contact with nature improve health, both physical and mental.
-
Because Catalonia is basically a mountainous country, with great biodiversity and a wealth of landscapes, and this is a good excuse to get to know them.
-
Because it is proven that when you know a territory, you love it, and if you love it, you respect it. And at Muntanya i Natura we have proven that this is the best way to preserve nature, by getting to know it!
-
Because it is increasingly evident that the health of nature is linked to our own well-being, and that if we preserve the environment, we are preserving our health.
-
It's clear that regular contact with nature increases well-being and improves health! And this project offers you the chance to see for yourself.
The objectives of the 100 Peaks Project of Mountain and Nature are:
-
Reclaiming the essence of hiking
-
Get to know our territory, its natural, cultural and landscape heritage
-
Encourage physical exercise and contact with nature
-
Improve well-being and comprehensive health
Origins and purpose
-
The 100 Peaks of Mountain and Nature project is based on the 100 Peaks challenge of the FEEC. The purpose of the project is to climb 100 emblematic peaks of our territory in order to learn about the geography, natural, cultural and landscape heritage, and enjoy nature and the mountains. Not all the peaks in the project will be on the 100 Peaks list, but they will be emblematic peaks either because of their location, panoramic views or for historical or hiking reasons, or simply because we like them.
-
The idea is that each person can do the summits they want and that they will be scheduled throughout the year, both on weekends and during the week.
What is the purpose?
-
The purpose of the 100 Summits Project is none other than to reclaim the essence of hiking, to learn about the geography, natural, cultural and landscape heritage of our land, to promote the practice of physical exercise and contact with nature, and to improve well-being and health.
-
The objective is to do this by promoting the values of hiking: knowledge of the territory and its people, respect for nature and the environment, cooperation and respect for others, overcoming our limits and knowing ourselves.
What is NOT the 100 Summits Project?
-
The 100 Summits Project is not a race or a collection of summits. Therefore, there is no room for competition or any kind of rivalry here, but rather the achievement of the challenges that one sets for oneself.
-
Anyone is be able to participate, as there are summits of all levels and for all ages.
Requirements:
-
No type of FEEC license is required, because the activity is covered by the guide's insurance.
-
Check the technical details for each peak, which specifies the distance, elevation gain, duration, physical demands, difficulty and requirements for completing the route, to find out if it suits your physical fitness. If you have any questions, get in touch and let's talk.
More information on the level of difficulty and other questions:

Frequently asked questions
When will the outings take place?
-
The trips will take place throughout the year, preferably on weekday mornings and at the weekend.
How long does it take to do it?
-
Well, there is no time limit, no rush, and no list to complete. Everyone chooses which peaks they want to climb and signs up for the outings they want. Although the project is entitled 100 peaks, you don't have to climb 100 peaks, there will be those who may only climb 10, those who will climb more than 100 or those who will repeat a peak to be able to do it via a different route or simply because they liked it.
How much it cost?
-
The price of the trip is stated on the details of each excursion.
Number of participants:
-
The outings are designed to be done with small groups, which depending on the difficulty of the route can be a maximum of 6 or 12 participants.

STORIES THAT SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES
My work as a mountain guide is not measured only in the peaks reached, but above all in the memories created by the people who accompany me. That is why I give special value to every opinion and every comment I receive: they are the true reflection of the experiences lived and the compass that helps me to continue improving every day.
Here you will find the voices of those who have already trusted me to achieve a 100 CIMS . Their stories are the best testimony to the adventure, effort and satisfaction that reaching the summit means.
